25.5 x 19.5 cm. 32 pp. Hardcover with dustjacket and banderole. lllustrated in b/w. – Text in English and Japanese – Toshiteru Yamaji (b. 1937) started taking photographs in the 1960s while working for the Marugame municipal government in Japan’s Shikoku region, mainly at farms. The work connected him with Hiroshi Kamimura, a pig farmer. After retiring in 1997, Yamaji continued to take pictures of Kamimura for about ten years. His images give an intimate and heartfelt glimpse of a man whose dedication and kindness to the animals in his care became a lifelong passion. According to him, raising pigs with love every day not only gives them a good life but also provides the best quality pork. A text by Hitsuko, his daughter, fondly remembers her father, who passed away after a struggle with cancer. – Fine copy
